Nationally Acclaimed Lawyer and Executive Coach G.C. Murray II, Esq., DPL Celebrated at Bicentennial Leon County MLK Event

Recently, during the Bicentennial Leon County Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at the Leon County Courthouse Rotunda, G.C. Murray II, Esq., DPL was honored with the MLK 2024 Excellence in Community Service Award by The MLK Foundation of Florida, Inc. While Mr. Murray was not present at the event, his impactful work was celebrated, as he was actively engaged in establishing a new chapter of the Innovative Community Engagement (ICE) Foundation in Jakarta, Indonesia.


A nationally recognized, award-winning lawyer and executive coach, Mr. Murray is renowned for his

significant contributions to the community. He is a recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious Young Floridian of the Year Award, the American Bar Association’s Inaugural Forty under 40, and the American Institute for Public Service’s National Jefferson Award, to name a few. His commitment to service is further exemplified by his status as a Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, the same fraternity as Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.


Reflecting on his connection to Dr. King's legacy, Mr. Murray stated, "Being honored for this award while working to expand the ICE Foundation’s reach in Jakarta is a poignant reminder of our shared global

responsibility towards Dr. King’s vision of service, equality, and justice.”



For the past decade, Mr. Murray has spearheaded the ICE Foundation's efforts in low-resource

communities, organizing backpack bashes with thousands of school supplies, turkey drives feeding over 5000 Floridians, and cold-weather clothing giveaways. His relentless pursuit of community improvement has touched countless lives. Under Mr. Murray’s leadership for over a decade, the ICE Foundation has made substantial contributions to communities through various initiatives. Mr. Murray’s commitment to the ICE Foundation’s global expansion, including establishing the Jakarta chapter, marks a significant step in broadening the foundation’s impact.


The Bicentennial Leon County MLK Celebration commemorated Dr. King’s legacy and is a testament to the ongoing efforts of individuals like Mr. Murray, who continue to embody the spirit of service and

community. Notable attendees at the event included Judge Nina Ashenafi-Richardson, City Commissioner

Curtis Richardson, County Commissioners Bill Proctor, Carolyn Cummings, and Nick Maddox, among other elected officials.
